Funny! And a beautiful bit of coastline. I'm off to look at Google Maps. Really adoring the postcards. I would buy a book of these outlining your journey.
How far north till you turn east, or can't you bear to leave the coast. You could take the Oregon trail and retrace the steps of the settlers through Donner Pass (where they are supposed to have had a bit of cannibalism to survive) and down onto the plains. You've got a lot of walking ahead.
Thanks for all your comments. John : I thought of wondering up to Seattle before turning right. My original intention was to head due east but I suspect I will be doing a number of detours to call in on blogging friends. My original estimate for total time was five and a half years but I am already behind schedule.

Nothing like a morning stroll along the Pacific shore!

What an interesting idea. A way to virtually travel, learn, and experience new places. Good for you.
